We all know that the lads in investment banking see themselves as the financial world's equivalent of Formula 1 drivers (although some may be more like Pedro Diniz than Michael Schumacher). Now they can prove their skills on the track in a go-karting tournament being run by Mercator, the software company. The competition is free of charge and open to teams of four from financial institutions in the City. The winners get an all-expenses paid trip to next year's Monaco Grand Prix to see the real stars in action. As with all good things there is a catch: racers must come from an IT department and need their director's permission to take part. Budding racers can apply at www.mercator.com/F1challenge.
