The former UK prime minister John Major has joined forces with Gina Miller, the prominent anti-Brexit campaigner and City wealth manager, in a bid to prevent Boris Johnson suspending Parliament.
The move comes amid the rising backlash against current PM Johnson's plans to shut down Parliament— known as proroguing — between September 10 and mid October. The move is widely seen as a means to frustrate the plans of opposition parties to prevent a no deal Brexit on October 31.
