Global Infrastructure Partners held a final close on $8.25bn for the world's largest-ever infrastructure fund, surpassing the previous record holder by $1.75bn.

LBO Wire reported in July that investors had approved a 10% increase to Global Infrastructure Partners II LP's $7.5bn hard cap as the fund fielded substantial interest from investors.
