The global head of retail for Deutsche Asset Management and global head of the bank's retail fund business DWS, is leaving the bank at the end of the month.

An official at the bank confirmed Axel Benkner's impending departure but declined to comment further. A Reuters report attributed Benkner's resignation in part to a difference of opinion on how closely DWS should be integrated into Deutsche's asset management operations.
