Gloomy outlook for Gulf State flotations

Stock market flotations by companies from the Gulf States have disappointed this year in terms of scale and investor demand and the deal pipeline has dropped off by nearly 60%, according to estimates from a private equity firm from the region.

Private equity firm Gulf Capital has slashed its forecast for initial public offerings by Gulf State companies over the next three years. The Gulf States comprise Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.
