Goldman Sachs has reversed a procession of its top dealmakers in Italy that have moved from the bank into public office, by appointing a trusted consigliere to former Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi as an international adviser.
Gianni Letta, who served as undersecretary to Berlusconi's two governments from 1994 to 1995 and between 2001 and 2006, will become the 22nd member of Goldman's board of international advisers.
