Goldman Sachs, which rocketed to the top of Europe's equity capital markets rankings after working on a host of capital raisings in October, has landed a landed a lead role on Spanish bank BBVA's €5bn rights issue.

Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria said today that it has agreed to buy a 24.9% stake in Turkey's Garanti Bankasi, in a move which highlights growing foreign interest in the country.
