Goldman gets boost as ISS backs HP-Compaq merger

Institutional Shareholder Services (ISS) has given its support to the proposed merger of Hewlett-Packard and Compaq, the US computer and software groups, providing a much-needed boost for Goldman Sachs.

ISS, an investor advisory firm, has recommended that shareholders back the $24bn (€28bn) merger at the vote on March 19.
