Goldman on board for €30bn worth of Italian banking deals

Goldman Sachs has been appointed co-adviser to Unicredito Italiano, the Italian bank in merger talks with German rival HVB Group, giving it a role on all three potential Italian banking deals, together worth nearly €30bn ($37bn).

Banking sources confirmed that Goldman has been appointed co-adviser to Unicredito alongside Merrill Lynch.
