A 14-year veteran within Goldman Sachs’ merchant banking division and private equity investment team has left the bank, according to people familiar with the matter.

Richard Butland, who served as a managing director within Goldman's principal investment area, has moved on from the group in recent weeks, two people familiar with the matter said. According to Butland's Linkedin page, he worked at the bank since 2000.
