Goldman Sachs hires just 1% of the 875,000 people who apply for jobs at the Wall Street investment bank, its president said, as it continues to work on retaining key talent. 

John Waldron, Goldman Sachs’ president and chief operating officer, said that the number of applicants the bank receives for open roles is “almost hard to believe” and that it remains “very choosy” about who it looks to bring in.
