Goldman wins €15bn of pharmaceuticals

Goldman Sachs is to advise on a second multi-billion pharmaceutical deal in a week after winning the mandate to advise Altana on the €4.5bn ($5.7bn) sale of its pharma business to private equity-owned Nycomed.

Nycomed, which was advised by Morgan Stanley and Credit Suisse, revealed it had agreed a deal to buy Altana Pharma in a statement last night.
