Growth in European equity set to speed up

The logistics of establishing a single financial market across the Continent are daunting

Along with other transatlantic imports like fast food, franchising and political correctness, Europe is now embracing an equity culture. Together with the euro, its impact on financial markets will be substantial.

European single market enthusiasts boast of having both the world's largest regional population and its largest pool of savings but this has yet to translate into relative holdings of equity assets.
