Hambrecht scores over Morgan Stanley

Morningstar, the mutual fund research firm, yesterday priced its initial public offering at $18.50 per share, close to the top of its $16 to $19 bookbuilding range, defying analysts' muted predictions.

The IPO raised $141m (€110m), $41m more than the firm said it hoped to raise at the time of its initial filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission last year.
