UK Chancellor Philip Hammond is to tell City executives he wants to create a series of new “global financial partnerships with different countries around the world” after the UK leaves the European Union.

Promising that the UK will continue to be “open to the world” and a “global capital of finance”, the Chancellor will use his after-dinner speech at Mansion House — an annual City tradition — on Thursday night to set out his “vision” for the new partnerships.
