UK Chancellor Philip Hammond today launched a defence of UK business, in a bid to regain the trust of City firms battered by months of Brexit uncertainty and left feeling ignored by the ruling Conservative party.

Hammond, who was speaking at the Tory party conference in Birmingham, told delegates that the “Conservative party is, and always will be, the party of business”.
