Hawkpoint, the corporate finance boutique, has won its first advisory role for Scottish Media Group since hiring Citigroup managing director Simon Gluckstein, whose clients included the UK radio and media group, in July last year.

SMG, which has used Citigroup for advice on the disposals of its stakes in GMTV to UK broadcaster ITV and Scottish Radio Holdings to media group Emap two years ago, has today hired Hawkpoint to advise on the disposal of Pearl & Dean and Primesight, its cinema and outdoor advertising businesses.
