Hawkpoint Partners, the UK corporate finance house, has hired Andrew Brown, the former joint chief executive of Gartmore Investment Management, as its finance director.

The move to appoint an asset management specialist could create opportunities for Hawkpoint to diversify the business, although chief executive Richard Briance said there were no definite plans to do so at this stage.
