HBOS has appointed David Gibson as head of loan distribution to replace Willie Orr, who has left the bank after it combined its corporate and business banking divisions at the start of this year.

Orr left HBOS earlier this year after spending 36 years at the UK banking group. It is not known whether he will remain in the investment banking industry.
