An HBOS whistleblower and a senior lawmaker have called for an investigation into the advice provided by UK-based auditor KPMG to HBOS in the run up to the financial crisis.
Paul Moore, the bank's former group head of regulatory risk who lost his job at HBOS after raising the alarm about lending practices at the failed UK lender in 2004, said there was need for fundamental reform of auditing and accounting practices in the UK.
