Head of options clearinghouse to retire

Veteran to step down after four decades at the helm of the main clearinghouse of US stock options

Wayne Luthringshausen, the chief executive of the Options Clearing Corporation, plans to retire this year after four decades leading the main clearinghouse for US stock-options trading.

Directors of the OCC have formed a search committee to fill Luthringshausen's role, which also includes chairing the clearing firm's board, and may decide to split the jobs.
