Hedge firm launches trade finance fund of funds

Eden Rock Capital Management, the London alternative asset manager, has launched what it claims is a unique fund of hedge funds that ultimately invests in short-term commercial loans.

The fund invests in up to 25 underlying funds that make trade finance loans to companies. The loans finance purchases of goods ranging from aircraft parts to medical supplies and are typically repaid within 30 to 120 days. The funds give companies an alternative to banks and factors, specialist loan companies.
