Sir Chris Hohn, the billionaire founder of TCI Fund Management, has donated £2.4m to a Cambridge University spin-off company that has just been given approval to sell a bedside testing kit for coronavirus.
The donation will see Diagnostics for the Real World, the inventor of the test, offer 100 of its machines to NHS hospitals free of charge, according to a report in the Times. The test is 98% accurate and yields results within an hour-and-a-half.
