Florin Court Capital opened an office in Abu Dhabi and currently has nearly 40% of its global workforce there

David Denison: 'Given my tastes, financial markets were a perfect place to apply my skills — you have to tease out tradable signals from noisy data, and well-chosen parsimonious models often make better predictions.'

Florin Court Capital partner David Denison’s curiosity to see the practical application of bookish knowledge encouraged his career shift from teaching statistics at Imperial College to applying trading strategies at hedge funds.

Denison, who served as a lecturer at Imperial College London from 1997 to 2002, worked as a quant researcher at IV Capital and Gloucester Research. In 2008, he joined Man AHL, Man Group’s multi-billion systematic investment management arm, as head of FX before joining Florin Court Capital as deputy CIO in 2014.
