Hedge funds more popular than private equity in Japan

Hedge funds are currently more popular than private equity in Japan, according to the fifth global report by Goldman Sachs and Frank Russell Company on alternative investing.

The survey, which covers pension funds, foundations and endowments with assets of $3bn (€3.3bn) or more, is based on the detailed information provided by 346 organizations in North America, Europe and Australia. The survey was expanded this year to include Japanese pension plans.
