Here’s how the UK can help banks benefit from Brexit

There are a number of practical steps the UK government could take to benefit banks and the financial services sector, if and when Brexit happens

With a UK election now set for December, one of the more likely outcomes — a swift Brexit followed by a period of majority Conservative government — could yet end happily for UK banks.

This may sound odd, after much talk of financial services firms leaving London once the UK is no longer in the European Union — but is nonetheless a real prospect once the UK is free of EU oversight and regulations.
