Hermes has created a new research director role ahead of EU rules that will shake-up how asset managers pay for investment research from external providers.

Orla Murphy joins the £31bn UK asset manager to oversee the procurement of equity and credit research from brokers and independent research providers. She will also be responsible for managing Hermes’ research budget.
