Hermes EOS has decided to use its voting power to protest a "lack of diversity progress" at Rio Tinto's annual meeting of shareholders in London tomorrow.

The group said today that it planned to vote against the re-election of chairman Jan du Plessis, a South African and British citizen, as head of the miner's nominations committee.
