Carol Hird has joined Daiwa Securities SMBC Europe, where she will spearhead sales of fixed income instruments to institutional investors in Belgium and Luxembourg.

Hird, who joins Daiwa as a director, was previously head of Belgian and Luxembourg sales at ABN Amro in London. She has covered the region for 15 years. Before working at ABN Amro, she occupied similar positions at Paribas and Deutsche Bank.
