Investment banks keep hiring tight despite bond boom

The bond-trading boom hasn’t lifted the gloom over hiring at many banks, with some institutions extending hiring freezes and others bringing 2016 recruitment to an early end.

Banks usually slow hiring in the fourth quarter - but the drive to cut costs means the slowdown is particularly apparent this year, executives and headhunters say.
