Hogg joins Financial Reporting Council

Sir Christopher Hogg, formerly chairman of UK-based pharmaceutical giant GlaxoSmithKline and news firm Reuters, has been appointed chairman of the Financial Reporting Council, the UK's regulator for financial reporting and governance.

Hogg was appointed by UK Secretary of State for Trade and Industry, Alan Johnson, and replaces Bryan Nicholson, who has been chairman since 2001.
