Hong Kong exchange to expand derivatives offering

Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing (HKEx), the holding company of the Hong Kong stock and futures markets, is working on plans to develop the exchange's derivatives offering.

The plans include the introduction of interest rate swap futures and a new Asian energy derivatives market. The exchange is also working with regulators and market participants to introduce capital protected instruments, and with potential issuers on the possible listing of regional exchange traded funds (ETFs).
