Sam Hocking, chief executive of US-based iMatchative, explains how his start-up mines mountains of data, including SEC filings, tweets, Facebook and divorce records, to help investors pick hedge fund managers.

Hocking was previously head of BNP Paribas' prime brokerage and his firm secured $20 million in Series B funding last October from investors including Wells Fargo, Mexican tycoon Carlos Slim and TPG Capital founder David Bonderman as it aims to create unique insights into hedge funds.
