As the Covid-19 pandemic left companies scrambling for capital amid unprecedented shutdowns, BNP Paribas stepped up to offer its balance sheet.

An aggressive lending push by the French bank saw it claw its way into third place in the Emea investment banking fee league tables in 2020, the first European bank to make the top three since Deutsche Bank in 2016.
