HSBC foils hackers

HSBC was the target of a 48-hour assault on its computer systems in one of the most sophisticated attacks on a financial services company to date, reports The Independent.

John Bold, HSBC chairman, told delegates at the World Economic Forum meeting in Davos, Switzerland, that an unidentified hacker, who could have been a member of a financial terrorist organisation, tried 150 million passwords in a two-day period last year.
