HSBC hires Barclays’ top legal chief Hoyt

The bank has named Bob Hoyt, who was latterly group general counsel at Barclays, as its chief legal officer, according to a statement on 28 October

HSBC hired a former Barclays top lawyer as group chief legal officer, as the UK lender continues to leave a long list of litigation behind it.

The bank has named Bob Hoyt, who was latterly group general counsel at Barclays, as its chief legal officer, according to a statement on 28 October. He will join HSBC on 18 January next year, reporting into its chief executive, Noel Quinn.
