HSBC Securities has poached James Leman, one of the founders of a technology which revolutionised the securities industry, to boost its electronic trading operations in the Americas. He joins from SunGard, the technology giant.

Leman, who joined SunGard's order management division as president last year, has been appointed managing director and head of execution trading for HSBC in the Americas.
