HSBC hires Goldman and Deutsche bankers for top strategic equity roles

HSBC has hired executives from Goldman Sachs and Deutsche Bank as new global co-heads of its strategic equity and financing unit.

In a memo sent to staff on Thursday, HSBC's co-heads of global banking, Matthew Westerman and Robin Phillips, said Kamal Omari, who led the division, will be taking a new role in the global banking and markets unit. They did not elaborate on what that role was.
