HSBC hires Pandit to head up sustainable bonds in Europe

Banks are battling for ESG talent as the fee pool is expected to explode

HSBC has hired a new head of sustainable bonds for Europe and the Americas, as large investment banks increasingly jostle for ESG and clean energy transition expertise.

The UK lender has named Anjuli Pandit as head of sustainable bonds for Europe, the Middle East and Africa and the Americas, according to an internal memo seen by Financial News. She joins from BNP Paribas, where she was head of its ESG debt syndicate desk and previously led its corporate sustainability business in the UK.
