HSBC has hired George Foussianes from Goldman Sachs to head its mergers and acquisitions advisory group in the US. He is the third senior Goldman banker to join HSBC in the past 12 months and starts in July. He had been with Goldman for 17 years.
The bank said Foussianes will be based in New York and work closely with David Livingstone, head of global investment banking advisory for Europe, the Middle East and Africa, and Steven Wallace, head of the advisory group in Asia.
