Samir Assaf is set to step down as head of global banking and markets at HSBC and move into a non-executive role, capping an eight-year stint as head of the group’s investment banking division.

The change is part of a series of management moves set to be announced in the coming weeks by interim chief executive Noel Quinn, according to a report in The Financial Times.
