HSBC's head of European ECM has moved within the bank to oversee the creation of its new corporate, investment banking and market (CIBM) division.

Simon Birkett took up the role of strategy implementation director of CIBM on July 8 after 14 years in HSBC's corporate broking and ECM teams. Russell Julius, global head of ECM at HSBC, has taken over Birkett's former responsibilities.
