HSBC names Allegra Berman co-head of $7.7tn business

Bank names co-heads after the death earlier this year of Cian Burke

HSBC has handed oversight of its $7.7tn securities services business to new co-heads, including one of the City’s most senior female executives.

Since the death of Cian Burke in May following a cycling accident, Richard Godfrey, who had been chief operating officer of the securities services division, has been running it on an interim basis.
