HSBC has handed its global head of equity trading an expanded remit as head of its broader equities business in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, filling a vacancy that has been open since last summer.

Franck Lacour will begin overseeing the bank's European equities operations - including sales trading - in Emea with immediate effect, according to a memo sent to staff on May 10. He will hold on to his existing responsibilities as head of equity trading globally.
