HSBC has promoted a banker to fill the role of European head of real estate after the incumbent quit the bank to take a senior role at a unit of German mortgage bank Eurohypo.

HSBC has appointed Serge Grzybowski to run the European real estate corporate lending team, while Ian Goldsworthy has also been appointed to run the business in the UK, according to a statement from HSBC yesterday.
