HSBC has poached David Livingstone from Goldman Sachs, to the new role as head of its corporate finance and advisory department for Europe, Middle East and Asia. He will be a key part of the new HSBC investment bank being built by John Studzinski and Stuart Gulliver.
Livingstone leaves Goldman after 16 years. He joined from university, spent nine years in mergers and acquisitions in London, was head of investment banking in Australasia and head of M&A and co-head of the advisory group in Asia ex-Japan, based in Singapore. Immediately before joining HSBC he was managing director and co-head of Goldman's European general industrials group.
