HSBC will keep its global summer internship programme virtual for the second year running, as large investment banks continue to make calls on whether to bring hundreds of juniors into the office.

The UK lender intends to kick off its programme online, according to people familiar with the matter. However, it also hopes to bring interns into the office later in the summer if lockdown restrictions allow.
