HSBC has appointed Mark Bucknall, who was previously head of the Asia-Pacific debt finance group and joint global head of fixed income, as head of capital markets in the Americas.

Bucknall, who will be responsible for HSBC's debt finance, investment banking and merchant banking business in the Americas, was also named chief executive of HSBC Securities (USA). He will relocate to New York from Hong Kong before assuming his new roles on September 3.
