Chris Huhne, the Liberal Democrat MEP who heads the Economic and Monetary Affairs Committee of the European Parliament, has put forward his pro-City of London report on the European Commission's much criticised single market prospectus directive.

In presenting his report for debate at the European Parliament, Huhne put forward 59 proposed amendments to the 29 Articles in the Commission's proposals. In the hour-long debate that followed, Huhne received widespread support from Socialist and Social Democrat members of the European Parliament.
