Mifid II appears likely to bring an obsolete trading technology back into use: Human beings.

Banks and fund managers in Europe's increasingly electronic equities markets could find themselves relying more on humans to find the other side of their trades once the revised Markets in Financial Instruments Directive comes into force in 2018 — less than 90 days from now.
